Managing E-mail Accounts through Stigmergy
نویسندگان
چکیده
The present work describes a novel model for managing e-mail accounts both by reducing the attachment failure and reply prediction. The prediction model is based on the property of social insects known as stigmergy. Stigmergy is a mechanism of (indirect) coordination through local modifications to a shared environment. Incorporating this innovative solution, certain promising results are presented and, finally, an effort has been made to develop a plug in automated software tool for managing an individual’s e-mail account. The further scope of research in this direction has also been addressed.

The massive and automated access to Web resources through robots has made it essential for Web service providers to make some conclusion about whether the "user" is a human or a robot. CAPTCHA is a reverse Turing test used by Web serv...
متن کاملEvolving Learning Ecologies Introduction: the Promise of E-learning
This chapter describes the application of self-organising principles to the field of e-learning. It argues that traditional managed approaches to e-learning suffer from deficiencies both in cost and adaptativity that are addressed through the application of nature-inspired processes such as stigmergy and evolution. Such systems, primarily those employing social navigation, are built to generate...
متن کاملApplied Linguistics Faculty Members’ Perceptions of (Im)politeness and (In)appropriateness of L2 Learners’ E-Mail Requests
A significant amount of contribution to pragmatics research comes from cross-cultural and developmental pragmatic studies with L2 learners in focus; however, despite broad interest in such analyses, the role of lecturers has been relatively ignored. As the lectures’ perceptions/opinions of L2 learners’ e-mail requests are important, L2 learners must become familiar with their lecturers’...
